New patient wants a checkup
- The receptionist
- Takes the request, whether they have insurance to verify and the days that suit them.
- Then
- The team calls back to confirm a time, as in the sample call below.

AI receptionist / Dental
A dental front desk checks patients in, takes payments and answers the phone at the same time. New patients often call at lunch or after work. An AI receptionist can take the routine booking request when the desk is busy or closed. Clinical questions, pain and anything about a patient's treatment go to staff.
Play the sample callCalls it meets
These are the calls a pilot is planned around. For each one: what the receptionist asks and records, and the point where a person takes over.
Tether / Sample conversation
A sample conversation, written by us, showing how Tether, the MoxiSync AI receptionist, could handle a call you would otherwise miss and what your team would receive. It is not a recording or a live agent. Tether is offered through guided pilots that are scoped and tested with each business.
Wednesday, 12:50 pm · the front desk is at lunch
Thanks for calling. The front desk is at lunch, so I'm taking calls. How can I help?
Hi, I'm new to the area and I'd like to book a checkup and cleaning.
Welcome. I can pass a request to the team. Do you have dental insurance you'd like them to check, and which days suit you best?
Yes, I'm with my employer's plan. Weekday mornings are best.
Thank you. I've noted a new-patient checkup and cleaning, with insurance to verify and weekday mornings preferred. The team will call you to confirm a time.
Tether: Thank you. I've noted a new-patient checkup and cleaning, with insurance to verify and weekday mornings preferred. The team will call you to confirm a time. Outcome: New-patient request: checkup and cleaning, weekday mornings
Boundaries
A pilot starts by writing these lists down with you. They are a starting point for dental practices, not a fixed product.
Compared with the alternatives
Voicemail costs nothing but leaves new callers with a beep, and many simply try the next dental practice. A human answering service handles sensitive callers well but often sends a message someone has to retype. An AI receptionist is consistent on routine requests and sends sensitive calls to your team. How a pilot works
Setup is quoted in a written scope. Voice usage is billed by use and priced separately. Nothing goes live until test calls pass.
Usually new-patient booking requests, or another routine request your team knows well.
The approved answers, the calls that go to a person and the fallback if nobody picks up.
Authorized test calls, including interruptions, odd questions and failed transfers.
Look at real requests and handoffs, then adjust, pause or expand.
Common questions
That depends on the whole setup: the phone provider, the voice and model providers, where call records go, and the agreements in place. We check those for your practice before a pilot and do not claim compliance in advance.
Only through a connection that has been built and tested for your pilot. Otherwise it records a request and says the team will confirm a time.
It takes their details and gives the after-hours instruction your practice approves. It does not assess symptoms or suggest treatment.
It is quoted per pilot. One-off setup covers the call flow, approved answers and handoff. Voice usage (telephone minutes, speech and model processing, number rental) is billed by use and priced separately, and depends on how many calls it takes and how long they last.
Tether, the MoxiSync receptionist, is in development and offered through guided early-access pilots. There is no public live calling or self-service signup, and availability depends on your region and phone routing.
